Room 41

Grand Pines Motel includes ten motel rooms, located on Little Round Lake near Hayward, Wisconsin. These newly-remodeled motel rooms are the perfect lodging for everything from romantic getaways to outdoor escapes. Each of our comfortable, Northwood’s inspired rooms include two queen beds, a flat screen TV, a small refrigerator, microwave, a wet sink, a coffee maker, private deck off back, central air and whirlpool jets in the tub. We also have 3 community charcoal grills and fire pits for the motel guests to utilize. There is a boat launch onsite and we have extra piers should you bring your own boat. We also have pontoon boats available for rent, see information under Rentals.


Bed linens and one set of towels per person are provided with each motel room. Actual room assignment will be made at check-in.

  I have been coming to Grand Pines on and off over several decades. Never had any issues with my accomodations. I love the private back patios and the beach.   We enjoyed our 3 night stay. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the motel was very quiet. We don't boat but still enjoyed the pier and the area. Just a couple of things that might be helpful for other guest. Since covid,
  the lodge no longer offers daily cleaning which was okay with us and there is no longer an office, the phone number on the reservation and Webb site gets you directly to someone in the know. Make sure to visit Powell's restaurant by car or boat, very nice place on the lake. There is also a winery/famous Dave's BBQ joint close by. Would stay again!

  Cabin 40 was WONDERFUL for a reunion, but is connected to the motel rooms (former lodge?) and not well marked. People kept wandering in looking for the "office".   We rented a room to accompany a massive family cabin rental next door and it was perfect for that. We were able to join them during the day and retire to our hotel room each night. Beds weren’t very comfortable and TV was very small for the kids to watch something each night before bed. Bathroom was a little dirty, in particular in the shower. However, the air conditioner worked great, the size of the room was large enough for a family of four to crash each night and again, it was a PERFECT place to crash each night after hanging at a larger cabin nearby with family.

  I almost hate to share this with everyone because we would really love to keep this little piece of heaven all to ourselves! A little off the beaten path, this motel is very peaceful and secluded. Of course, we were there after prime season and during the week but we had the entire site to ourselves and we loved that! The room was spacious, very clean, and well stocked with linens. The beds were extremely comfortable and the setting beautiful. If we were to take anything away from this review, it would be better signage on the main highway as we missed it and ended up at the resort, which the motel is not on the same grounds. That, and it would have been nice to have had a heat register punched in the wall to the bathroom during the remodel but, neither of these are insurmountable and will keep us from revisiting. Expect to receive exactly as you see on the website, We wish we could find diamonds in the rough like this everywhere we go!

  I'm not sure which I enjoyed more: the lodge decor, the very comfortable bed or the jetted bathtub. All made our very short, one night stay sweet. We had intended to arrive much earlier but our perception of how quickly one can travel back country Wisconsin roads was way off! For health reasons, I had chosen a room near the water so as to also be near the fire pit. I did not realize that it was also right next to the boat ramp so early a.m. fishermen woke us before we would have wished. Now I understand the hesitation in the reservation agent’s voice. Oh well, we discovered we needed to be up early anyway since upon arrival at this motel we read they had an earlier check-out time than anywhere else we stayed. That came as a surprise to us and combined with the boat ramp issue made for the only two negatives...negatives for which we share some responsibility. In other aspects, the staff communicated well with us. The room was incredibly clean and the property well maintained. The gift shop carried unique items. We did enjoy our brief time there.

  This was a pleasant homey stay in the Northwoods. The mattresses are not as nice as the Northwoods Suite at the end of the motel, but hopefully they are up for upgrade soon. We enjoyed the back patio, but would also have liked chairs out front to enjoy the sunshine when it was on that side of the building and visiting with neighbors. The playground could use an update.
